New Zealand's strong sun, wind and changing weather can be tough on outdoor furnishings, so look for cushions made from fabrics specifically designed for outdoor use.
Many of our outdoor cushions use Sunbrella® performance fabrics, which carry a 5-year warranty against loss of colour or strength from normal exposure conditions, including sunlight, mildew and atmospheric chemicals. Other cushions in our range use polypropylene and other materials selected for outdoor use.
All fabrics will last better when they're protected from unnecessary exposure to the elements, but choosing a fabric designed for outdoor use makes a substantial difference.
Sunbrella® fabrics are particularly well suited to sunny outdoor areas because of their resistance to fading and degradation from sunlight. Many of our outdoor cushions are made using Sunbrella fabrics and carry the applicable 5-year limited warranty.
Even with outdoor fabrics, we recommend storing cushions out of the elements when they're not being used. They'll look better and last longer.

New Zealand's combination of strong UV, wind and wet weather is hard on anything permanently left outside. Looking after your cushions and storing them when you're not using your outdoor area will help extend their life.
If you plan to leave your cushions outside for longer periods, we recommend choosing our PET cushion inners rather than feather inners.
We recommend our recycled PET cushion inners for outdoor cushions, particularly if the cushions are likely to be left outside.

Start with your outdoor furniture and surroundings rather than trying to make every cushion match. You might pick up a colour from your garden, outdoor rug or furniture, then combine different patterns, textures and cushion sizes around it.
